A.C.T. Summer Theatre Camp

A.C.T. Studio Theatre will be hosting a fun and engaging week long Summer Theatre Camp for children who want to explore the arts. There will be two sessions offered, so choose the date that works best for you.
Either session costs $150 and will require a submitted
Summer Camp Participation Agreement which can be obtained here.

Who is leading the camp?
The camp is led by Jennifer Goodman, a certified theatre educator with extensive experience teaching students from kindergarten through 12th grade. She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education, bringing a strong understanding of how to support diverse learners and create an inclusive, encouraging environment for all students.
With a background in directing, acting, and theatre education, Ms. Goodman focuses on helping students build confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills while having fun and expressing themselves.
Who is this camp for?
This camp is open to students who have completed 3rd through 8th grade.
• Students with little or no theatre experience are welcome
• Middle school students with prior theatre/acting experience may be invited to serve as Junior Counselors, where they will:
• Assist younger or less experienced campers
• Take on leadership roles in activities and rehearsals
Additionally, experienced high school student volunteers will help lead small groups during workshops and rehearsals, providing mentorship and support.
What does a typical day look like?
Each day is designed to keep students active, creative, and engaged:
• Warm-Ups & Icebreakers – Theatre games, movement, and vocal work
• Skill Building – Acting techniques, improvisation, and character development
• Small Group Workshops – Led by high school student leaders with guidance
• Rehearsal Time – Working on scenes and staging
• Snack/Lunch Breaks
• Run-Through / Sharing – Practicing performance material
Will there be a performance?
Yes! At the end of the week, all campers—including Junior Counselors—will perform in an original one-act play that emphasizes the importance of teamwork in theatre.
Families will be invited to attend this performance and celebrate the students’ hard work and creativity. Tickets will be $5 and may be limited to two tickets per camper, depending on availability.
What should students wear (dress code)?
Students should be dressed to move comfortably each day:
• Comfortable clothing (t-shirts, shorts, athletic wear, etc.)
• Closed-toe shoes (sneakers recommended)
• Hair pulled back as needed
Performance Attire
Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt, which will serve as part of their costume for the final performance. Students should pair the shirt with:
• Shorts, pants, or leggings of their choice
What about snacks and lunch?
Students should bring the following each day:
• A labeled water bottle or drink
• A morning snack
• A lunch
• An optional afternoon snack
Please make sure all items are clearly labeled with your child’s name.
What are drop-off and pick-up procedures?
• Drop-off: 8:15am - 8:30am
• Pick-up: 4:00pm - 4:15pm (pickups after 4:15 are subject to a late fee)
For safety:
• A parent/guardian must sign students in and out
• Please notify us in advance if someone else will be picking up your child

What should my child bring each day?
• Water bottle (labeled)

• A positive attitude and willingness to participate
Can my child sign up for both sessions?
Absolutely! While both sessions feature the same workshops and production, campers who attend both may have the chance to explore alternate workshops on select days and could be cast in a different role for the second session.

• This camp is designed to be a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment
• Attendance is important to ensure participation in the final performance
• Students will be encouraged to take creative risks and work as a team
